You travel by covered pickup truck for about 1 hour south-west of Chiang Mai. The trek starts at a coffee shop, where you meet your guide.
You hike on local trails to a waterfall for a break, then on to a Karen village to learn about their culture. After a packed Thai lunch you walk through farmland, and the day ends with time to relax at the Mae Wang river.
The last stop by the Mae Wang river is a great place for children to cool off, especially in the hot season.
Transport to and from Chiang Mai city, drinking water, an English-speaking trekking guide, and a Thai lunch with seasonal fruit.
Drinks at restaurants and local shops, and tips, which are optional.
You arrive back in Chiang Mai at about 17:00. You can be dropped at your hotel, the airport or the train station.
Good walking shoes, a hat, sunscreen, insect repellent, and swimwear or a change of clothes if you want to get in the water.
