A short, hands-on visit to Elephant Jungle Sanctuary's camp outside Pattaya. In about an hour and a half you feed the elephants and then join them in their pool to help wash them down. It is the right pick if you want real contact with the animals but do not have half a day to spare.

The van collects you at your hotel in Pattaya City or Jomtien and drives out to the camp in Khao Mai Kaeo. You are welcomed with snacks and tea or coffee and get a briefing on elephant behaviour and the rules for being close to them. Then you hand-feed the herd fresh fruit and their supplements, walk with them to the pool and help cool them down with buckets and brushes. There are showers to rinse off and change before the drive back.

The sanctuary says there is no riding and no performances and that it holds ACES Gold ethical certification. Every interaction is supervised by the mahouts. The program is rated easy, is open to all ages and is accessible for wheelchairs and strollers. You will get wet, so wear a swimsuit under your clothes and bring a towel and a change of clothes. It runs in any weather, including heavy rain.

Bookings open up to 150 days ahead; the latest date you can book is Sun 28 Feb 2027.
