In the mountains of the Doi Inthanon area south-west of Chiang Mai, in Karen hill tribe country. The drive from the city takes roughly an hour and a half each way.
Pickup from accommodation in Chiang Mai is between 08:00 and 08:30.
No. The program is feeding and bathing the elephants, not riding.
A simple village house shared with the group. Mattresses, blankets and mosquito nets are provided. Bathrooms are basic.
The trek runs in the rainy season too. Trails can be muddy and slippery, so bring a raincoat and shoes with grip. The guide adjusts the pace and route to the conditions.
