Amazing Eco Trek - One Day (walk only or full program)

This is the complete one-day version of the Amazing Eco Trek, and the one to pick if you have a single day for the mountains and want the whole mix: a proper walk, a waterfall, a Karen village, time with elephants and a bamboo raft. It suits active travellers and families with older children who are happy to be on the move all day.

Pickup in Chiang Mai is around 08:00. On the way into the hills the group stops at a local market around 09:00 to buy bananas for the elephants. By about 10:45 you are walking: a hike through the forest to a Karen village and a waterfall, where you can swim before lunch. In the afternoon you meet the elephants. You feed them by hand, walk with them and help wash them in the river. Riding is not part of the program; the interaction is feeding and bathing. Then it is onto a bamboo raft for a slow ride down the river before the drive back, with a hotel return around 17:00.

Lunch, transport, an English-speaking guide and insurance are included. Bring a swimsuit, a towel and a change of clothes, because you will get wet twice, and wear shoes you can walk in. Water shoes or sandals with a strap are useful for the river.
