The Greet and Feed visit is the simplest way to meet the elephants at Mae Rim Elephant Sanctuary. There is no fixed start time and no transport to arrange through the sanctuary: you make your own way there, arrive any time between 10:00 and 16:00, and spend up to an hour with the herd. It suits people who are short on time, travelling with small children, or exploring Mae Rim by scooter or with a driver and want to add an elephant stop without committing to a half day.

When you arrive the team hands you a basket of bananas and introduces you to the elephants. You feed them by hand, watch them up close and hear where each one came from and how it lives now. There is plenty of time for photos, and the team is used to helping visitors get a good one. Drinking water is provided.

The sanctuary does not allow riding, shows, hooks or chains. Contact is limited to feeding and being near the elephants, which is exactly what this short visit is about. The sanctuary is in Khi Lek, Mae Rim district, about 45 minutes north of Chiang Mai city, so plan your own travel time on top of the hour you spend there.
