Half Day Elephant Care Activities (Morning)

Elephant Fun Farm is a family run elephant camp in Nam Phrae, Hang Dong district, on the south-western edge of Chiang Mai. The farm describes itself as a long standing family camp where the people who look after the elephants also run the visits. The morning half day program is the simplest way to meet the elephants: a small group of up to 12 people, a few hours with the animals, and back in the city by early afternoon. It suits families with children, first time visitors and anyone who wants elephants without a whole day out.

The visit is built around care activities. You learn about the life of Thai elephants from the family, feed the elephants by hand and walk with them around the farm. The farm's own packing list asks for a swimsuit, a towel and a change of clothes, so expect to get wet when the elephants are washed. The farm also keeps other small animals, including meerkats, that you can hold.

Practicalities: round trip transport from your accommodation in Chiang Mai, an English speaking guide, a local meal, drinking water and the elephant food are all included. Allow about four hours in total. Our office confirms your pickup time when you book.
