Frequently asked questions
Pickup is from hotels in Chiang Mai city. The camp sits in the Mae Taeng valley about an hour north of town, so allow around 60 to 90 minutes each way.
The 4 km run is the gentlest option on this river. Outside the peak rainy months it is a fun, splashy float rather than a serious rapid run.
A long, flat raft of bamboo poles lashed together. You sit on it while a boatman poles and steers, and the water often washes over the deck, so it is relaxed but not dry.
Families do this trip and children join the rafting in the calmer months. For the ATV, younger children normally ride as a passenger rather than drive. Tell the office the ages when you book so the supplier can confirm.
Rain does not cancel the day. Higher water actually makes the rafting more lively. Bring a light rain jacket and keep your phone in a dry bag.
