Frequently asked questions
No. A guide steers each raft and briefs everyone before you set off. You need to be able to follow paddling instructions and be comfortable getting wet.
The child rate covers ages 3 to 10, but rafting operators usually set their own minimum age. Tell our office the ages in your group and we confirm with the sanctuary before you book.
No. Riding is not part of the program. The sanctuary describes itself as a home rather than a camp and says it raises its young elephants without a hook. You feed the elephants, walk beside them, give them a mud bath and wash them in the river instead.
A limestone waterfall north of Chiang Mai where mineral deposits make the rock grippy rather than slippery, so you can climb the cascade barefoot. Bring shoes for the walk to it.
Yes. Pickup and drop-off at your hotel in Chiang Mai city are included. Our office confirms the pickup time when you book.
