No. Riding is not allowed at Pon Elephant Thailand, and the sanctuary says the elephants are not made to do anything during the visit. If an elephant does not feel like going to the river, the bathing part may change.
Yes, for hotels in Chiang Mai city. If you are staying outside the city there is an extra charge, or you can meet the group at the Pon Elephant Thailand office on Kotchasarn Road.
Yes. Children aged 3 to 8 pay the child rate and children under 3 join free. From age 9, or once a child is taller than 120 cm, the adult rate applies.
Clothes that can get muddy and wet, with a swimsuit underneath for the river, and sandals or shoes you do not mind soaking. Bring a towel and a full change of clothes; these are not provided.
It is a slow ride on calm water with a local boatman steering. Children who can sit still usually enjoy it; ask the guide about life jackets.
The elephant part runs in the rain. Swimming at the waterfall depends on the water level, and in heavy rain the guide may skip it for safety.
