Trail of the Dinosaur (Basic)

Overview: Embark on a rugged and active journey with the "Trail of the Dinosaur Basic" program. This adventurous full-day trekking experience invites you to follow the ancient, natural paths once roamed by the majestic giants of the jungle. Over the course of the day, you will hike approximately 11 kilometers up and down beautiful mountainous terrain, fully immersing yourself in the breathtaking, untouched natural environment of Chiang Mai's deep wilderness

Morning: Feeding and Mountain Trekking. The excursion starts with an 8:00 AM pick-up directly from your Chiang Mai hotel. Once you arrive at the camp, you will immediately get to meet the sanctuary's adorable "dinosaurs" (their beloved resident elephants). You will spend the first part of your morning feeding them and getting acquainted. Then, it is time to hit the trails. You will gear up for an immersive and scenic hike along the mountain jungle paths, allowing you to experience the sights and sounds of the real northern Thai jungle on foot.

Afternoon: Lunch, River Play, and Relaxation Midway through your extensive 11-kilometer hike, you will take a well-deserved break to enjoy a delicious, freshly prepared lunch right in the heart of the wilderness. After refueling, the trek continues down towards a local river where the real fun begins. You will get to cool off from your hike and play in the water with the elephants, bathing and splashing around with them in their natural element.

After plenty of fun in the river, you will walk back to the Thai Elephant Home base camp. There, you can take a refreshing shower, change into clean, dry clothing, and enjoy a spread of complimentary fresh fruit before your journey back to the city.
