3-Hour Watch Me Program - Elephant Jungle Sanctuary Phuket

Watch Me is the observation program at Elephant Jungle Sanctuary Phuket. You spend three hours near the elephants without getting into the mud or the water with them. It suits anyone who wants to see elephants behave like elephants and would rather keep a little distance, including travellers who are unsure about hands on contact.

After pickup from your Phuket hotel, the visit opens with a briefing on elephant anatomy, behaviour and the place of elephants in Thai culture. From viewing platforms you watch the herd socialise at its own pace. You then help prepare their food and feed them by hand from behind a comfort barrier. A guided observation session follows, with time for questions about what the elephants are doing and why. The visit closes with a Thai cooking demonstration, a traditional meal, and a fruit platter as a farewell treat before the drive back.

The sanctuary calls itself Thailand's ACES Gold certified ethical elephant sanctuary: no riding and no performances. Pickup runs from about 09:00 to 10:00 for hotels in the Phuket zone. If you come on your own, be at the Kathu camp at 10:00 sharp. Children are welcome with a parent or guardian. Bring your passport number, which is needed for the included insurance.
