Half Day Premium Elephant Jungle Sanctuary Phuket

The Half Day Premium program is the small group version of the Phuket sanctuary visit. Only one group of at most 20 guests runs each day, so the three hours feel unhurried and the elephants are not shared with other groups. It suits couples, families and anyone who wants the full program with more room and a few extras.

After a shared transfer from your hotel, you change into Karen hill tribe clothing and the sanctuary's own hat. You take part in the routine health and nutrition checks, then prepare khao tom mat, sticky rice bundles the elephants love, and feed them by hand as the herd roams freely. Mud spa and bathing in the natural water follow. Back on dry land there is a cooking workshop where you make khanom krok, small coconut pancakes, and watch the chef prepare fresh Pad Thai. A short session on recycling elephant dung into paper rounds off the activities before a full Thai meal, a cold drink and a souvenir to take home.

The program runs at the Kathu camp only. Pickup is roughly 09:00 to 10:00 from hotels in the Phuket zone; self-drive guests arrive by 10:00. All contact with the elephants is guided by experienced handlers. The sanctuary describes itself as ACES Gold certified: no riding and no performances. Children must be with a parent or guardian, and the site is wheelchair and stroller accessible.
